For Second Consecutive Year, Software Magazine Recognizes PeopleCube for Sustained Annual Growth
FRAMINGHAM, Massachusetts—November 1, 2010—PeopleCube, provider of intelligent workplace, resource, and energy management technology, today announced its inclusion in Software Magazine’s 28th annual Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers. This marks the second consecutive year that PeopleCube has made the Software 500 rankings, and this year the company rose 19 steps in the rankings.
“Achieving Software 500 status for the second time in a row reflects the sustained growth we have experienced as a company year-over-year,” said John T. Anderson, president and CEO of PeopleCube. “That is the direct result of the time, effort, and dedication PeopleCube’s staff invests in enhancing our products and services so that customers around the world can leverage them to effectively manage corporate resources and to cut real-estate, meeting-services, travel, and energy costs.”
John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com, said “The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers, and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners. The 2010 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $491.7 billion worldwide for 2009, representing virtually flat growth from the previous year.”
Listening to Customers Breeds Software Success
Despite the challenging economic climate, PeopleCube has achieved steady growth by developing software solutions that specifically target customer needs. For example, the recently released Resource Scheduler 9.1 was developed using PeopleCube’s “User-Centered Design,” a methodology that relies on direct interaction with customers to address their specific needs. The result was a feature-rich resource scheduling solution that improves the ease and flexibility of scheduling for event managers, mobile workers, end users, and administrators through simplified means of reserving, updating, and monitoring resource reservations and events.
“We strive to deliver software solutions and related professional services that address real-world needs and enhance ROI,” said Anderson. “We listen closely to both customers and prospects to learn what obstacles they face so we can craft our products to help them achieve their goals and improve their organizations.”
Tracking the Largest Software and Service Companies in the World
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the largest software and services suppliers in the world, focusing on medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers, and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. “It is a quick reference of vendor viability,” said Desmond. “The online version, available at www.Softwaremag.com, is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software.”
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services, and consulting. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents. In the current ranking, PeopleCube comes in at number 425, up from 444 the previous year.
