PeopleCube and Building Sustainability Ltd. Collaborate to Help Customers Reduce Carbon Footprint

FRAMINGHAM, MA, and LONDON, UK, March 10, 2008 – PeopleCube, a leading provider of on-demand workplace and resource management technology, and Building Sustainability LTD (BSL), a leading provider of energy-efficient building solutions, today announced they have integrated PeopleCube’s Resource Scheduler intelligent workplace scheduling solution with Building Sustainability’s Footprint Tracker energy consumption and carbon emissions tracking application. This unique solution enables companies to monitor and reduce energy consumption based on efficient scheduling and utilization of workspace and energy resources, resulting in lower costs for energy (e.g., heating and lighting) and reduced carbon emissions.

“PeopleCube is fully committed to the environment, as evidenced by our product direction as well as how we operate as a company,” said PeopleCube President and CEO John T. Anderson. “We are very excited about our partnership with Building Sustainability Limited. By integrating our two solutions, we are able to offer customers a comprehensive, intuitive eco-friendly building management system that helps reduce real estate and energy costs while simultaneously conserving our natural resources.”

PeopleCube’s Resource Scheduler solution is an on-demand workplace and resource management application that allows organizations to utilize space more efficiently, which in turn empowers them to reduce real-estate needs/costs and to decrease energy costs as a result of effective resource usage. It includes a wide variety of features and functionality to implement office hoteling/hot desking work environments, schedule conference rooms and services, reserve videoconferencing systems, and report on workspace utilization.

Building Sustainability’s Footprint Tracker software suite is a management information system that collects all information about the energy usage of a building and its occupiers. It calculates the energy costs and the resulting carbon footprint of the facility, and presents the data in an easy-to-understand web-accessible dashboard format. In addition, the Footprint Tracker can be integrated with wearable location badge sensors to allow individuals to manage their use of energy. Individuals can control lighting, HVAC, computers, and other local resources, based on personal profiles and location.

“Building Sustainability and PeopleCube have developed a unique application which allows intelligent scheduling of workspace and building energy resources such as heating and lighting. This innovative application creates the potential to maximize the use of workspace as well as minimize energy consumption and carbon emissions”, said Building Sustainability Managing Director, George Bartley.

By integrating Footprint Tracker with Resource Scheduler, customers are provided with a cutting edge, intuitive “management dashboard” model that allows organizations to fully understand their energy consumption patterns and clearly demonstrate their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact based on room schedules, occupancy, and the actual location of people.

“Both PeopleCube and Building Sustainability have been very focused on delivering solutions that support an organization’s green initiative, and this collaboration is another solid step on the path to corporate sustainability,” said Rebecca Wetteman, Vice President of Research at Nucleus Research. “PeopleCube and Building Sustainability are not only helping their customers to realize a strong ROI, they are also empowering these customers to help preserve the environment.”
