Commercial Building Automation Systems To Reach $146 Billion In Revenue By 2021

In a recent report released by Pike Research, the research firm states that the market for commercial building automation systems will double from $72.5 billion in 2011 to $146.4 billion by 2021.

Commercial building automation systems have become a critical part of energy management with commercial buildings consuming 23% of all the electricity around the world. Not only is the need for better energy management driving the growth in the building automation market but the advancements in building management technology is also responsible. In the past buildings had to control, monitor, and manage a number of individual systems in a building. New building automation and management technologies now allow any device or data source to be brought in under one system to manage and monitor energy consumption.
