Adoption of Telework Trending Upward in Federal Agencies
In the past we have posted blogs concerning federal telework and it’s lack of progress. More progress certainly needs to be made but according to Federal Computer Week things are moving in the right direction. The progress seems to have been made over the past 12 months, I’m sure it is largely due to the Telework Enhancement Act, but it also seems that more supervisors are interested in the benefits of telework instead of opposing the practice.
Federal agencies would benefit from telework by increased productivity, reduced real estate, and reduced energy consumption and costs.
Where some theories suggest the acceptance of telework as a practice by federal agency managers is responsible for the higher levels of adoption, the truth is whether they like it or not telework is something that the federal government will practice based on the Telework Enhancement Act. The act requires federal agencies to have telework plans in place.
